Bend General Obligation (GO) Bond Improvements

Provide capacity at key bottlenecks while balancing multimodal corridor needs.

Quick Facts

  • Bend GO Bond Program provides $30 million for capital street improvement projects

  • DKS led the transportation analysis of six roadway improvement projects

Results

  • The analyses helped the City select reasonably funded concepts that provide capacity to serve congestion at key bottlenecks while balancing the desire to create neighborhood-friendly multimodal corridors

  • The final designs meet the funding constraints of the City, provide compatibility with long-range corridor plans, and are supported by the community

Our Work

  • Led the transportation evaluation to determine long-term travel demands for each project, evaluated options for intersection control and geometrics and recommended potential phasing strategies

  • Evaluated traffic control options based on traffic operations, bicycle and pedestrian system integration, design vehicles, surrounding land uses, safety, right-of-way impacts, and other criteria

  • Compared roundabout control to traffic signal control at six intersections, including single- and multi-lane configurations

  • Provided traffic engineering services to develop roadway lighting plans

  • Provided peer review of signing and striping

  • Provided support for the coordination of temporary traffic control during construction
