DKS Associates was incorporated in Oakland, California in 1979, and has since expanded to include offices in Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, Irvine, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, and Tampa. Our firm specializes in transportation planning and traffic engineering and is one of the few firms that devotes 100 percent of its business to improving transportation. The range of our services includes traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic control systems, traffic signal design, transportation planning, transit, parking, civil engineering, homeland security and strategic public outreach. Our staff have helped to plan and design roadways, bus and rail transit services, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, traffic signal systems, transit signal priority systems, traffic management centers, managed lane systems, freeway management systems, parking facilities, toll facilities, and transit centers as well as preparing the long range plans for downtown, cities, counties and entire metropolitan areas.

Our philosophy is to provide these services with the highest level of technical competence delivered in a collaborative manner, consistent with the needs and goals of our clients. Consistent with this philosophy, most of our staff have graduate degrees and are active in professional organizations.
