ITS Engineer

The ITS Engineer is responsible for planning, research, design, and development of state of the art traffic signal and intelligent transportation systems. Responsibilities to include comprehensive system design including preparation of plans, specifications and estimates and system engineering/integration along with development and implementation oversight, including hardware and software installation. Additional responsibilities include business development, proposal preparation, project management and budget control.

Required qualifications: BS/MS in Civil or Transportation Engineering, Electrical or Systems Engineering or related engineering discipline; 5 + years transportation systems industry experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience preparing technical reports; Florida PE (or capability to obtain Florida PE within one year) and experience with business development. AutoCAD proficiency is a plus.

Junior Network Administrator

The junior network administrator will join the IT team to help provide support for all DKS offices. The ideal candidate will know BackupExec, Windows XP, Office 2003 and 2007, Microsoft Server 2003, Web administration, and Cisco Pix / asa administration. Sr. Associate Transportation Engineer
Seattle, WA
The Sr. Associate Transportation Engineer will manage and lead various traffic design projects including those involving lighting, striping, traffic control, ITS, and signal timing. ITS elements will include fiber, signal interconnect, transit signal priority, CCTV, VMS and video detection. S/he will prepare and be responsible for the preparation of plans, specifications and estimate (PS&E) packages for traffic signals and illuminations systems, ITS systems, signal interconnect, signing, and traffic control. Develop designs for a variety of traffic-related improvements including traffic signals, lighting, striping, ITS elements, traffic control, and signal interconnect. Prepare PS&E packages for these improvements. Design-related duties will include preparation of design documents using AutoCAD software. Depending upon qualifications and years of experience, additional duties may include preparing proposals, marketing for new projects, and making client presentations.

Summary:
The Operations Engineer will manage and lead team of engineers on transportation planning projects such as corridor studies, operational analysis studies, Project Study Reports (PSRs), and traffic impact studies. A BS/MS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering and 5+ years related work experience is required along with strong written and verbal communication skills required. A P.E., T.E, or P.T.O.E. and previous work experience in consulting preferred.

Responsibilities:
Working in a team environment, develop and analyze traffic models; analyze traffic capacity; apply travel demand model theory; and create traffic simulations using packages such as VISSIM, Paramics, Synchro and CORSIM. Duties will also include preparing technical reports and proposals, managing projects and staff depending on experience and marketing for new projects, and making client presentations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Civil/Electrical) or Urban Planning
5 -10 years experience in traffic engineering and planning
Experience with simulation tools, environmental studies, travel forecasting models, traffic calming, GIS, client meetings, public meetings, proposals and project management
Working knowledge of Caltrans Design Manual, Caltrans Traffic Manual, and preparation of Caltrans PSRs is a plus
