DKS Associates started in 1979 as just a small group of engineers working on easing traffic through Berkeley. Twenty-nine years later it has grown into a $19-million-a-year transportation engineering and planning firm with a long list of clients. While the employee-owned company continues to head smaller projects, like school drop-off and pick-up operations, it is tackling major transportation planning efforts, including co-managing congestion reduction on Interstate 80 through the Bay Area for the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency.

DKS Associates Awarded $15 Million Contract from Caltrans to Develop Corridor System Management Plans

DKS signed a $15M contract with Caltrans to develop Corridor System Management Plans for major corridors throughout California. This innovative program supports the CA Transportation Commission’s Prop 1B Corridor Mobility Improvement Plan. The plans explore the role of recent innovations in transportation management including Intelligent Transportation Systems, Integrated Corridor Management and Active Traffic Management among other strategies.

DKS Opens Dallas Office

Michael Wobken, P.E., PTOE officially opened a Dallas office for DKS Associates. The regional office will initially focus on congestion management solutions by providing expertise in signal timing, intelligent transportation systems and transit signal priority. Wobken and his staff are currently assisting DART with signal priority applications for their Light Rail Transit system. The DKS Dallas office is located at 1109 Kings Hwy, Suite 201, in Dallas. Irvine office

Dennis Pascua and Ed Alegre have recently been certified by as Professional Transportation Planners (PTP) through the Transportation Professional Certification Board, Inc. (TPCB).

Dr. Sittipan Sittikariya (Band) was invited to present at the Annual Penn State Transportation and Safety Conference, December 5 - 7. Band's topic will be on the activity analysis and implications for safety conscious planning.

Interstate 80 Integrated Corridor Mobility Project
8/8/2007
DKS is co-managing the I-80 ICM project for the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency (ACCMA). This major project will provide relief on the most congested freeway segment in the San Francisco Bay Area. The project includes the freeway, adjacent arterials and transit. The goal for the project is to enhance the current Transportation Management System along the I-80 Corridor by using state of the art practice solutions, to build a balanced, responsive and equitable integrated system that monitors and maintains optimum traffic flow along the network, to improve the safety and mobility for all users. The total funding need for the project is approximately $80 million.

DKS Associates retained as the City of Beverly Hills Traffic Engineering Consultant

DKS Associates has been named the Traffic Engineering Consultant to the City of Beverly Hills. The firm will update the city-wide traffix network and review all entitlement applications for traffic and parking compliance. DKS also serves as the Traffic Engineer for the City of Rialto.
